The Cardinal Shooting Center hosts Trap, Skeet and Sporting Clays championships, as well as being home to several shoots to benefit charities.
Trapshooting
The Cardinal Trap Shooting Facility is the largest in the state. It consists of a 52-house, state-of-the-art trap line with Canterbury Voice Calls, a large vending area with complete vendor buildings, and plenty of parking throughout the entire trap line.
Sporting Clays
The Cardinal Sporting Clays Facility offers a state-of-the-art target shooting experience. Designed to mimic wild bird hunting, sporting clay shooting is referred to as “golf with a shotgun” which involves the shooter going through a course set up with multiple shooting stations, each station different than the next.
We have 5-Stand and two complete sporting clays courses to choose from, one more geared towards the everyday shooter and the second course set up with more challenging, tournament shots.
Skeet
Our facility offers 14 sheet fields. Skeet shooting involves eight shooting stations and two trap houses. Seven of the stations are arranged in a half moon between the two trap houses, and one station is directly between them. The high house, on the left side of the field, throws its targets from a trap 10 feet above the ground. The target rises to a height of 15 feet by the time it travels to the center of the field. The low house target, on the right side, leaves the trap house just 3-1/2 feet from the ground. It also rises to a height of 15 feet by the time it reaches the center of the field. There is a point where both targets can be broken with a single shotgun shell. This discipline provides good practice for sporting clays targets.
